This project included construction of Collector Well No. 14 for the City of Norfolk, Nebraska. The project featured a new 28-foot-square collector well building constructed over a 19-foot outside diameter reinforced concrete caisson extending approximately 60 feet below grade. The well was equipped with four 12-inch-diameter, 200-foot laterals totaling approximately 800 linear feet, three vertical turbine pumps with variable frequency drives (VFDs), and associated piping, valves, and appurtenances.
Additional improvements included approximately 50 linear feet of 20-inch well discharge piping, a generator pad and connections for an Owner-furnished generator, site utilities, and miscellaneous site improvements. The collector well was commissioned at 3,900 gallons per minute (GPM) and is capable of producing more than 6,400 GPM.
