Reynolds Construction collaborated with the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) to redesign the engineer’s original cast-in-place wet well into a precast concrete solution. The team developed a construction approach that allowed the existing wet well and pump station to remain operational while the new wet well was brought online, maintaining pumping capacity and system functionality.
Additional improvements included redesigning the control panel stand and sunshade into an integrated structure with an elevated, suspended generator pad, optimizing available slab space and improving maintenance access. The project also involved relocating, replacing, and reconnecting approximately 305 linear feet of 4- to 12-inch PVC force main and 100 linear feet of 8-inch PVC piping through carefully sequenced shutdowns.
Reynolds self-performed the sheeting and dewatering operations required for installation of the precast concrete wet well. All work was completed within 120 feet of the ocean, requiring careful coordination and execution in a coastal environment.

If we seem a little unique for a construction company, we’ll take it as a compliment. We’d love to talk about what it be like to work together, the way we both want to.
