Who We Are
Reynolds Construction, LLC, is an employee-owned, customer-focused, and performance-driven service company that provides sustainable solutions to the water, wastewater, and renewable energy sectors.
Our legacy in water resource construction was started in the mid-1930s by John L. Reynolds, Sr. under the name John Reynolds & Sons. That business first incorporated in Indiana as John Reynolds & Sons, Inc. in 1965, then later as Reynolds, Inc. in 1987. The company merged with Layne Christensen Company in 2005, and in 2012, assumed the name Layne Heavy Civil, Inc.
On May 1, 2017, the assets associated with this business were purchased back by management and the company began operations as Reynolds Construction, LLC.
What We Do
Reynolds delivers water and wastewater construction services to municipalities, government agencies, and private clients across the Midwest, including treatment plants, transmission and distribution pipelines, sewer collection systems, collector wells, surface water intakes, pumping stations, dams and reservoirs, hard rock tunnels, and marine construction. We also build biogas facilities (anaerobic digesters) for methane capture and industrial facilities including site grading, mass excavation, and fill & site restoration.
Self-Performance
Reynolds typically self-performs 65-85% of our projects, including the following:
- Site work
- Concrete
- Above/below grade piping
- Equipment installation
- Tunnels and shafts
- Cofferdams/ sheeting installation
- Caissons and lateral projection
Experience Summary
Over the last 30 years, Reynolds and its operating groups have constructed more than 280 treatment plants, installed more than 20.3 million feet of pipeline, and contracted more than $1.42 billion in collaborative delivery work including Design-Build, Design-Build-Operate, and Construction Management at Risk. Today the company employs approximately 370 people.
Safety
Safety is not a program at Reynolds. It’s how we work. Every project starts with the expectation that every person goes home the same way they arrived. We back that with ongoing training, clear site communication, and a culture where raising a concern is never the wrong move.

From humble beginnings…

…to extensive infrastructure construction projects.
