Metro Water Services Omohundro WTP Flood Mitigation Projects Intake #4 Passive Screen And Air Burst System

This construction project included installation of approximately 372 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe connecting the existing intake to a new passive intake screen. Reynolds removed the existing intake screen and cleaned the area around and inside the existing Intake No. 4 structure. Commercial divers installed approximately 300 linear feet of pipe along the river bottom. All in-water pipe and intake screen installation was performed from a barge platform using a long-stick excavator and an 80-ton crawler crane.
